RESTYLING: "MACHO-MACHO VAN" MOTO HAULER CONCEPT
“…Few vehicles emit an emotional response like a 70’s van. This response becomes more extreme when the van is fully customized in iconic “Boogie Van” style.
The Van, Vanner and Vanning counter-culture all have descended over the years into a negative stereotype that is ripe for a Campbell Coachworks ReStyling.
The Campbell Coachworks concept challenge: ReStyle a 1973 Ford E100 Econoline Boogie Van into a functional Moto Hauler / Shop Van.
Our task seems pedestrian when you consider current Sprinter, Transit or ProMaster van standards. Modern cargo vans excel at utility and function. BUT, they have little to no style, character and consumer appeal outside transporting cargo. Modern vans seriously lack personality, attitude and (if we’re honest) that hard earned anti-establishment loathing. These vehicles are regarded with the love and affection of a cardboard box. The infusion of function-over-form drastically contrasts with what made vans an era defining purchase of the 70’s. The “Macho-Macho Van” ReStyling Project aims to “Bring Boogie Back” and “Keep On Vannin” by infusing modern functionality to a character heavy, counter-cultural icon. “
